As we are nearing the end of June the pollen count is extremely high, in particular grass pollen. Here are some tips to help you manage your symptoms.

  • CHECK POLLEN COUNT keep an eye on the pollen count in your area. Try to stay indoors when it is high, especially in the morning when pollen rises and in the evening when it comes back down.

  • CLOSE WINDOWS keep windows closed in your home and car to prevent pollen getting in.

  • AIR PURIFIER Consider using air purifiers with HEPA Filters to help reduce pollen indoors.

  • SHOWER AND CHANGE After spending time outdoors, shower and change your clothes to remove any pollen that may have stuck to you.

  • AVOID MOWING if you're sensitive to grass pollen, try to avoid mowing the lawn yourself, if you must, wear a mask and sunglasses to reduce exposure.

  • MEDICATION Consult with a healthcare provider about over the counter or prescription medication that can help alleviate hay fever symptoms.

  • ALLERGY TESTING Consider getting allergy testing done to identify specific triggers and develop a personalised management plan.

By being proactive and taking steps to reduce exposure to grass pollen, you can help manage hay fever symptoms more effectively.
